Rooted in purpose.
Praeva is derived from the Latin praevius — meaning "to go before; to lead the way."
It reflects the core belief behind this practice: that the most powerful healthcare isn't reactive — it anticipates, investigates, and acts before the problem takes hold. To go before the diagnosis. To lead the way toward a better outcome.
It's the spirit behind Praeva — care that doesn't just respond to what's happening, but works to understand the bigger picture and help you get ahead of it.

“Most of the patients I see have already been through the system. They’ve been told their labs are normal. They’ve been dismissed. My job is to be the last stop — the provider who finally finds the answer.”
Dr. Wells has studied root-cause medicine for years — researching holistic health principles while completing her medical education. Even then, she found herself asking a different set of questions: why does this happen in the first place? How do we address it naturally and holistically? And how do we draw on every part of medicine to help a patient truly get better?
After earning her board certification and spending time in primary care, she watched the same pattern repeat itself: patients with real problems, told their labs were “normal” because traditional medicine relies on broad reference ranges that rarely reflect optimal health. Too often the answer was a prescription to band-aid the symptom — sometimes an outdated protocol, sometimes only a narrow set of labs ordered — and patients sent home without real answers.
Just as limiting was time. A rushed visit leaves no room for a thorough health history — and that history is often where the root cause hides. Her frustration was structural: the way traditional medicine is built restricts the provider and limits the patient at the same time. With both sides constrained, the problem rarely gets solved — it just gets managed, patient after patient.
Praeva is the practice she wished existed — where the rigor of evidence-based medicine and the depth of root-cause investigation actually live in the same room. She doesn't guess. She tests, interprets, and builds a plan your biology can actually respond to.
